In an inspection at Mandapeta in East Godavari District , on wednesday, P Manjari, the Director of Andhra Pradesh State Food Control Department, stated that the state is planning to set up a full fledged food processing lab in Visakhapatnam.

Earlier, the samples have been sent to Hyderabad for final report on the food quality. Now, the state will be having its very own food laboratory at Vizag built with an estimated budget of Rs 20 crores.

“The lab will be built behind the Food Control office near ENT hospital, Pedda Waltair with 75 inspection and technical staff that state has given a nod to appoint,” said Srinivas Rao, Assistant Food Controller in Vizag.
